Our History
Linntec was founded by motoring enthusiast Ron Linn in the early 2000’s.
Originally from Dundee in Scotland, Ron relocated to Yorkshire with his young family. He worked for a firm in the engineering industry and had an entrepreneurial spirit from a young age. One of his first foray’s into the business world was running a burger van in a busy town centre on an evening.
Ron was on holiday in the USA when he spotted some new, exciting detailing products. He trialled a few of these items back at home on his own car and was impressed with the results. His first import order of a few cases was placed in the same week. Ron offered these products to a local car accessory shop for resale and Linntec was born!
Initially starting with just one man and one brand, over the next 20 years the team grew and new brands were welcomed. Today Linntec supplies hundreds of companies throughout the UK and Europe with some of the world’s leading brands.
Linntec remains a family-owned independent business and now imports products from countries worldwide. From those humble beginnings in the early 2000’s where Ron was importing only a few cases of products, Linntec now receives weekly container shipments.
Ron's love for cars and racing has been passed down to a further two generations, with his grandchildren now taking part in kart racing.
